NOVATO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Radiant Logic, the Identity Data Fabric company, announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Brainwave GRC, a leader in Identity Governance and Analytics (IGA) headquartered in France. Together, Radiant Logic and Brainwave GRC address a broad set of identity use cases, and the acquisition accelerates the companies’ shared vision of an Identity Data Fabric that uses the science of data to ensure the right information is in place to make the right policy decisions…
The Cyber Hut Comment: Brainwave were founded in 2010 in France and have a specialist focus in identity governance and administration - with a specific angle on identity analytics. They have about 50 employees (compared to Radiant Logic at 130+) and no publicly announced external funding. Their specialism is the EMEA market where they tackle the access governance questions focused on how to identify and remove excessive permissions and how to accelerate the access review process.
Their main product is the Brainwave Identity Analytics engine. This essentially ingests data from directories, on-prem and cloud systems in order to identify anomalies and discrepancies.
IGA is typically a compliance driven purchase and the recent funding for Saviynt shows this market is still ripe for investment and innovation.
What does this mean for Radiant Logic? Well they have been focused on creating a narrative around organisations needing an “identity data fabric” - where they look to consolidate identity data across multiple different systems in order to improve visibility and productivity via a universal directory.
They focus on both the B2E (where IGA is a main concern) and the B2C markets (where usability and revenue generation are more the order of the day). IGA was a component they were lacking, so this seems a logical move to expand their capabilities horizontally - to both their existing customer base - but also allows them to target net new business with just IGA capabilities only - competing alongside Sailpoint, Saviynt and perhaps the likes of ForgeRock with their early foray into IGA with their Autonomous Identity capability.
