1Kosmos DevX Simplifies Deployment of Identity Verification and Passwordless MFA with Risk-Free Trial Environment
EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J., Feb. 28, 2023 – 1Kosmos, the only company that unifies identity proofing and passwordless authentication, today announced the 1Kosmos DevX (Developer Experience) environment which enables developers to evaluate how passwordless, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and identity verification will work with existing and new applications. DevX eliminates the need to install the 1Kosmos BlockID platform to perform proof of concept (PoC) trials for adding passwordless MFA and identity verification capabilities to workforce and customer facing applications.
Traditional IAM tools require that developers install the platform before they can test how their applications will respond when passwordless, MFA and identity verification capabilities are added to their development pipelines and user journeys. DevX eliminates the risk associated with deploying advanced IAM capabilities by providing developers with visibility into how their applications will react to specific workflows and user journeys before making an investment in BlockID…
The Cyber Hut Comment: Passwordless and proofing vendor 1Kosmos recently launched a new initiative to accelerate adoption of their solution. The concept is called DevX and looks to create what is described as a virtual use-use simulator. It seems the idea is to test-drive the integration, use cases and pain points before a real deployment takes hold.
The main use cases seem to be focused on things like proofing (using a driving license), FIDO based passwordless authentication, magic links for registration and login as well as further support for verifiable credentials and OAuth2/OIDC support.
The main benefit seems to be the 1Kosmos platform does not need to be installed - which would help reduce any barriers for testing in the form of infrastructure and time. A range of SDK and integration options are provided which can accelerate testing and improve applicability of the solution.
Passwordless authentication really does try to provide answers to both the security and usability questions that many projects (especially in the CIAM space) face. Will DevX accelerate the adoption and break down the barriers that can free us from passwords?
